Anjali Sareen, Esq. is a commercial transactions, intellectual property, and data privacy attorney with nearly fifteen years of experience advising companies on complex business agreements and regulatory matters. She is licensed in California, New York, and Florida, and holds the CIPP/US and CIPP/E privacy certifications. She is also a Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Anjali focuses her practice on helping companies structure and negotiate the agreements that power modern businesses. Her work regularly involves drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as master services agreements (MSAs), SaaS and software licensing agreements, technology vendor agreements, data processing agreements, intellectual property licenses, partnership agreements, and other strategic commercial contracts. She also advises companies on intellectual property protection and privacy compliance, including privacy policies, data governance frameworks, and contractual risk allocation related to the use of data and emerging technologies. Through her private practice, Uncommon Counsel PLLC, Anjali frequently acts as outside counsel for companies that need ongoing transactional support without the overhead of a traditional law firm. She works with organizations ranging from solo entrepreneurs and creative businesses to established companies and Fortune 500 organizations, assisting with everything from day-to-day contract review to complex multi-party commercial arrangements. Much of her work sits at the intersection of technology, intellectual property, and commercial contracting, including advising businesses on software agreements, AI-related contracts, data rights, and vendor risk.

Anjali believes strongly in designing a legal practice that supports living life fully. She attended both undergraduate and law school at New York University and began her legal career in New York City before launching her own practice in 2016. Building her firm allowed her to practice law while traveling the world, connecting with clients and collaborators across different cultures and industries.Today Anjali works remotely while traveling internationally, though she maintains ties to her homes in Orlando, Florida and La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Her recent adventures have taken her to places such as Tulum, Buenos Aires, San José, Nairobi, Dubai, Phuket, Bali, and Mumbai.Outside of work, Anjali enjoys spending time with her husband J.R., a chiropractor and fellow traveler. She is an advanced yogi who practices handbalancing and contortion, is a dedicated vegan and animal rights advocate, and loves experimenting with new plant-based recipes—especially desserts.

Anjali enjoys getting to know the people behind the businesses she works with and believes the experience of working with a lawyer should feel collaborative, human, and even enjoyable. She welcomes new conversations and is always happy to connect.
